Beware of Where Your Product Ratings are Coming From |

Product ratings are a funny thing. People look to car reviews, consumer electronics reviews and just about all other ratings to find out about what a product or service is all about. There are great places to find reviews for every product available but then there are also those places that have a bias for financial gain. This is what you have to look out for.
When searching the web for product reviews stick to the sources you have heard of like Consumer Reports, Cnet or for videogames IGN that way you will not be caught off guard when a product doesn’t live up to the hype.
Another thing you have to look out for are early reviews of highly anticipated products. When something is hyped up to be amazing, people are going to expect nothing less and will probably write the same thing down in reviews on blogs and personal sites. For big name releases wait for the hype to wear off before reading real product reviews. A great example of this was the latest iPhone release, nothing bad was said until after the fact.
